Genetic Counselor

(Remote)

Must have ABGC Certification

GeneScreen is primarily involved in providing genetic counseling for: preconception for fertility patients, single gene PGD in individuals who are referred due to carrier status/personal history, screening of egg donors, individuals using donor sperm, individuals using donor eggs and hereditary cancer syndromes.

Summary of Duties

  • Provide pre-test consultation to explain the benefits and limitations of comprehensive

  • screening to prospective patients.

  • Facilitate case preparation for single gene disorder testing which includes data entry,

  • Review of clinical genetic reports from outside centers and sample coordination.

  • Maintain excellent communication and documentation within the Foundation and to referring centers.

  • Provide client education and support and act as advocate on behalf of the patient.

  • Participate in case review and educational opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree from an accredited genetic counseling program

  • ABGC Certification

  • Current State licensure or application upon employment
